Crispy and Quick, Guilt-free Air Fried Bacon-Wrapped Tator Tots

Tator tots were created in the 1950s by Ore-Ida, a frozen food company. They were originally made from leftover potato scraps and were meant to be a cheap and easy side dish. However, they quickly gained popularity and are now a beloved snack or appetizer. Bacon-wrapped tator tots are a modern twist on the classic tots, and cooking them in an air fryer makes them even more delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon

  • 1 bag frozen tator tots

  • Toothpicks

  • Your favorite dipping sauce

Directions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cut bacon slices in half so they are shorter and easier to wrap around the tator tots.
  • Wrap each tator tot with a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped tator tots in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until bacon is crispy and tots are heated through.
  • Remove from air fryer and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or BBQ sauce.

Notes

  • Make sure to flip the tator tots halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
  • Be careful when removing the toothpicks before serving.
  • Feel free to experiment with different dipping sauces for added flavor.
