This easy and flavorful carne asada recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Using an air fryer cuts down on cooking time and produces juicy and tender meat every time.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 pound thinly sliced carne asada

Directions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Place 1 pound of thinly sliced carne asada in a large bowl and sprinkle the spice mixture over the meat. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Place the seasoned carne asada in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the meat is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Remove the carne asada from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
  • Optional: Serve with warm tortillas, salsa, and your favorite toppings for delicious carne asada tacos.

Notes

  • Make sure to slice the carne asada thinly to ensure even cooking.
  • For an extra kick of flavor, marinate the meat in the spice mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
