Crispy and Quick, Guilt-free Air Fried Tator Tot Jalepeno Poppers

A crispy and spicy twist on a classic appetizer, these air fried tator tot jalapeno poppers are sure to be a hit at your next party or game night. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they are quick and easy to make in your air fryer.


  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup diced jalapenos

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 24 frozen tator tots

  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing


  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place a tator tot on a cutting board and use a small knife to cut a slit in the side, creating a pocket.
  • Stuff the tator tot with the cream cheese mixture, using about 1 tsp per tator tot.
  • Repeat with the remaining tator tots and cream cheese mixture.
  • Grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil.
  • Place the stuffed tator tots in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tator tots are crispy and golden brown.
  • Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.


  • Make sure to use a cooking spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapenos.
