Crispy and Quick, Guilt-free Air Fried Top Sirloin Steak

Top sirloin steak is a popular cut of beef that comes from the top of the sirloin primal, located in the hindquarters of the cow. It is known for its tenderness and rich, beefy flavor. In the early 1900s, it was considered a premium cut of beef and was often reserved for special occasions. However, with advancements in meat processing and distribution, top sirloin steak is now widely available and enjoyed by many.

Ingredients

  • 2 top sirloin steaks, about 1 inch thick

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Directions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Brush the steaks with olive oil on both sides, then sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the steaks.
  • Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
  • Cook the steaks for 6 minutes, then flip them over and cook for an additional 6 minutes for medium-rare. Add 2-3 minutes for medium and 4-5 minutes for well done.
  • Once done, remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to preheat your air fryer before cooking.
  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
